18U wins T1EHL Playoff Championship

February 17, 2026

A year after capturing the MidAm district championship and making a historical run to the national semifinal, the 18U (2007/08) team added another title to its resume yesterday by winning the T1EHL playoff championship. After winning their division, OBJ turned in a dominant performance in the semifinals, defeating Victory Honda 7-1.

In the championship, Tyler Wilmoth scored the overtime winning goal on a great play from Aiden Sinha to defeat the No. 1 seed St. Louis Blues 3-2. The victory was extra special with players, parents and coaches from the program's 14U, 15O and 16U teams in attendance. Their celebration together was an incredible demonstration of what OBJ is all about.

Now 40–15 on the season, the team turns its focus to defending its district title at the MidAm Tournament next weekend in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Tier 1 Elite Hockey League is the Nation’s premier amateur hockey league featuring more than 20 organizations stretching from coast to coast. With significant visibility, top-level talent, and elite coaching often coming from the upper levels of professional hockey, the Tier 1 Elite League boasts the ability to move young, talented players to organizations such as Major Junior, Tier I Jr Hockey, NCAA Hockey, NHL, and other professional leagues. The T1EHL showcase tournaments and games are heavily attended by scouts from the USHL, NCAA schools, and the OHL due to the convenience of seeing many top players in one game or weekend. This has led to a significant percentage of Tier 1 players moving on, making the league one of the most respected in the United States for amateur hockey.
