Dustin commits to Niagara University

May 22, 2026

2007 born alumnus Colin Dustin has committed to play Division I hockey at Niagara University.

The longtime OBJ forward made an immediate impact in his rookie season of junior hockey, tallying 20 goals and 40 points for the Rochester Jr. Americans in the NAHL. Earlier this month, Dustin was selected in the 3rd round (pick 40) by the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL's Phase II Draft.

A well-rounded player with good skills and instincts, Dustin has been a reliable, impact player at all levels. In his seven seasons in the OBJ organization, Dustin served as team captain of the 2007 birth year and helped lead the 18U team to a MidAM district championship and semi-final appearance at Nationals in his final season in Union Blue.

Niagara University competes in Atlantic Hockey America, which embarks on its third season in 2026-27. After 21 seasons, the Atlantic Hockey Association rebranded to Atlantic Hockey America following the 2023-24 season. The new era of Atlantic Hockey features both a men's and a women's league, with 16 programs across 14 member institutions in the 2026-27 season.
