Program names first Players of the Month of 2025-26 season

The Ohio AAA Blue Jackets are proud to announce the program's Players of the Month presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods. These awards are issued to one member from each team. Honored are student-athletes that excel on and off of the ice, demonstrate our holistic development model and represent the program's core values of process, respect, integrity, determination and excellence.

18U (2007/08) - Owen Gallogly
A longtime veteran of the program and a cornerstone of the 2007 birth year, Owen Gallogly has been a consistently high-performing player for the 18U team both on and off the ice. Owen arrives at the rink every day prepared to give his best, bringing positive energy and setting the standard as the ultimate competitor and consummate teammate. On the ice, he has recorded 6 goals, 8 assists, and 14 points through the team’s first 12 games this season. In 2024–25, Gallogly posted 51 points in 59 games, helping lead the 18U squad to a District Championship and a semifinal appearance at the National Tournament.

16U (2009) - Sawyer Thompson
A USHL Phase I Draft pick of the Green Bay Gamblers, 2009 forward Sawyer Thompson has gotten off to a strong start this season, tallying 14 points and a +8 rating through the team’s first 12 games in September. Thompson has been a key driver for the 16U squad, scoring big goals and making timely plays. He consistently impacts the game at both ends of the ice and on special teams, showcasing a tremendous work ethic and relentless compete level every day. Off the ice, the Powell native excels in the classroom with a 3.70 GPA.

16U Girls (2009/10) - Maddie Rios
A founding member of the organization since the girls program was reintroduced in 2022–23, Maddie Rios continues to serve as a dependable, go-to defenseman for the 16U Girls team. A steady and tough presence on the blue line, Rios also contributed offensively in September, tying for the team lead in points. She is consistently relied upon in all situations and approaches each day with a commitment to improvement. This season, Maddie was voted by her teammates to serve as part of the team’s leadership group. Off the ice, the Worthington Kilbourne High School junior excels academically, earning the Bronze Key honor for her achievements in the classroom. She also gives back to the game by volunteering with the Blue Jackets Hockey League and assisting with CBJ Skills & Drills during the summer.

15O (2010) - Parker Obney
Now in his third season with the program, Parker Obney has continued to build upon his steady development and leadership within the team. The goaltender has had an impressive start to the year, posting a 2.20 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage through the opening month of the season. His early success was highlighted by a shutout against the Cleveland Barons and a strong showing at the Nashville Showcase, where he went 2-0-1. Obney’s consistent play has made him a trusted presence in the crease, providing confidence to his teammates each time he’s between the pipes. He is recognized as a leader both on and off the ice, setting the tone through his work ethic, mental toughness, and calm, professional approach to the position. Off the ice, Parker brings the same discipline and commitment to his academics, maintaining a 3.5 GPA at Olentangy Liberty High School. His maturity, focus, and team-first attitude continue to set a strong example for those around him.

14U (2011) - Louie Pillifant
Entering his fifth season with the program, Louie Pillifant came into the year in excellent shape and ready to lead. His consistent effort and focus in practice have translated directly into games, making him one of the team’s most dependable performers and respected leaders both on and off the ice. Facing an extremely challenging early schedule, Pillifant has posted a 2-2-1 record to start the season, highlighted by a 41-save performance in a 3-2 win over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, one of Canada’s top teams. His competitiveness, poise, and preparation have set the tone for his teammates throughout the first month of play. Off the ice, Louie is just as impressive—an outstanding student and role model who maintains straight A’s at St. Paul Catholic School. A great kid with a positive attitude, he continues to embody what it means to be a Blue Jacket both in the classroom and on the ice.

14U Girls (2011/12) - Mae Daus
Now in her second season with the program, Mae Daus has established herself as an integral part of the team and a key contributor on the blue line. In the opening month of the season, she recorded 3 points and posted an impressive +11 rating, anchoring a strong defensive group while playing with poise and confidence. Beyond her on-ice contributions, Daus has emerged as an outstanding leader and a constant positive force within the locker room. She brings energy and encouragement to every practice and game, setting an example through her attitude, work ethic, and commitment to team success. Mae also played a vital role in helping welcome and integrate several new players to the roster this year, demonstrating maturity and character well beyond her age. Off the ice, Daus is a freshman at St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, where she serves as a student ambassador for future students and continues to excel in her academic studies.

13U (2012) - Beau Ricart
Now in his fourth season with the program, Beau Ricart has continued to establish himself as a go-to player for the 13U Jackets in all situations. In the month of September, he led the team in scoring with 3 goals, 9 assists, and 12 points across 9 games played. Beyond his offensive impact, Ricart has been a dominant force on the defensive side of the puck, excelling on the penalty kill and in the faceoff circle. His complete 200-foot game and attention to detail make him a reliable and trusted player in every scenario. Ricart’s competitiveness and team-first mentality set the tone for his teammates each day. He is recognized as a leader through his relentless effort, consistency, and commitment to improving every time he steps on the ice. Off the ice, Beau is an 8th grader at Bexley Middle School, where he challenges himself with advanced coursework in mathematics and English language arts. Inspired by his experience in Quebec, he has also begun learning French, continuing to demonstrate curiosity, discipline, and a drive for growth in all areas of life.

12U (2013) - Deven Hendershot
Now in his third season with the program, Deven Hendershot has gotten off to an outstanding start to the 2025–26 campaign, recording 16 goals, 23 points, and a +17 rating in the team’s first 12 games. A relentless competitor, Deven impacts every shift, playing hard on both ends of the ice and consistently making plays that elevate his team. Hendershot is recognized not only for his skill and effort but also for his character, serving as a supportive and inspiring teammate both on and off the ice. His dedication, attitude, and leadership set a standard for those around him. Off the ice, Deven is a 7th grader at St. Matthew the Apostle School in Gahanna, where he balances academics with athletics. He also excels as a midfielder for the Resolute Ohio Midwest Club lacrosse team, demonstrating the same drive and commitment that he brings to the ice each day.

12U Girls (2013/14) - Peyton Peters
In her first season with the organization, Peyton Peters has quickly made a significant impact on the 12U Girls team. Whether in practice or in games, she consistently brings an exceptional attitude, energy, and effort level. Her focus on improvement and attention to detail are evident every day, making her a role model for her teammates. On the ice, Peyton has established herself as a key contributor at center, playing a true two-way game. She is trusted in defensive situations while also using her speed and agility to pressure opponents on the forecheck and create offensive opportunities. Her tenacity, hockey IQ, and commitment to team play set her apart as a standout performer. Off the ice, Peyton is a 6th grader at Mason Intermediate School, where she maintains straight A’s. She also competes in soccer with King’s Hammer FC in Cincinnati, demonstrating the same dedication and drive to excel both athletically and academically.

11U (2014) - Andrew Puleo
In his first season with the program, Andrew Puleo has made an immediate impact on the 2014 team. He brings infectious energy to the rink every day and competes relentlessly to make every save count. In the opening month of the season, Puleo earned the team’s “Player of the Game” honors on multiple occasions and has performed strongly in every start, highlighted by a key performance in a 5-3 win over his former team at the Victory Honda Tournament. Puleo’s enthusiasm, effort, and positive attitude have quickly made him a trusted teammate and a player his coaches can rely on every time he is between the pipes. Off the ice, he is a 5th grader at Rogers Elementary School, where he works diligently in his studies and enjoys reading, demonstrating the same focus he brings to hockey.

10U (2015) - Viktar Sunitsyn
Viktar Sunitsyn is the 10U (2015) team’s first-ever Player of the Month! Viktar had an outstanding start to his OBJ career, quickly establishing himself as a consistent and dynamic offensive threat for the program’s youngest team. In his first 15 games, he recorded 18 goals, 6 assists, and a +21 rating, making an immediate impact on both ends of the ice. Beyond his impressive production, Viktar brings energy, passion, and a love for the game that lifts the entire team. He is a supportive and enthusiastic teammate, consistently bringing a positive attitude to every practice and game. Off the ice, Viktar is a 4th grader at Chapman Elementary School, where he works hard academically while continuing to learn English. His dedication, both in hockey and in the classroom, highlights his determination and drive to succeed.

With an every day mission to develop our student-athletes to reach their potential on and off of the ice, the program aims to provide a healthy and safe environment for the elite player to grow as a player, person and teammate through the great game of hockey.
