Travers tenders with Kenai River Brown Bears
18U forward Drew Travers has signed a tender with the Kenai River Brown Bears (NAHL) for the 2026-27 season.
A skilled and competitive forward, Travers has quickly established himself as one of the driving forces behind the 18U team’s strong start to the season. He leads the squad in scoring with 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) through 26 games, fueling the group’s impressive 24-8-0 record heading into Thanksgiving.
This past summer, Travers represented the Mid-American District at USA Hockey’s U17 National Festival, where he recorded a goal and four assists over six games and played an important role in helping MidAm capture the bronze medal at the event.
“We are excited for Drew! He has been a very productive, hard working player for us who competes every day," said 18U head coach Nate Handrahan. "His ability to make plays and generate offense is a strength of his game. He has been a big part of our team's success so far this season.”
Celebrating its 51st season in 2025-26, the NAHL, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior league boasting 34 teams teams in 19 states from across North America. The NAHL is part of the USA Hockey National Junior Development Model, which includes the USHL and the US National Team Development Program. The NAHL works closely with NCAA College Hockey, the NHL, the USHL, and USA Hockey's National Development Program in order best serve as an imperative piece in the development system for collegiate and professional hockey.
