Zimpfer tenders with Lone Star Brahmas

18U forward Luke Zimpfer has signed a tender with the Lone Star Brahmas (NAHL) for the 2026-27 season.
A veteran forward in the program, Zimpfer is a well-rounded, 200-foot player who combines skill, strength, and speed to impact the game in all situations. In his first 18U season, he has quickly established himself as a key contributor, helping lead the team to a 24-8-0 start while adding 15 goals and 28 points. His commitment to the team and competitiveness make him a dependable presence at both ends of the ice.
Last season, Zimpfer served as captain of the OBJ 16U team, where he set the tone with his work ethic and leadership. He produced a strong 50-point campaign (15 goals, 35 assists) and posted a +27 rating in 66 games played. His continued growth and maturity have positioned him as an important piece of the 18U group this season.
“There has been lots of interest in Luke from great junior programs," said 18U head coach Nate Handrahan. "His ability to play at a high tempo, execute in tight spaces as well play a physical style is what separates him. Playing in the NAHL South is a tall task that he is up for. We are proud of him for his play on ice and the quality of teammate he is off the ice.”
A native of Upper Arlington, Zimpfer becomes the third 18U player to sign a tender this season, joining teammates Austin Forney (Lone Star) and Drew Travers (Kenai River).
Celebrating its 51st season in 2025-26, the NAHL, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior league boasting 34 teams teams in 19 states from across North America. The NAHL is part of the USA Hockey National Junior Development Model, which includes the USHL and the US National Team Development Program. The NAHL works closely with NCAA College Hockey, the NHL, the USHL, and USA Hockey's National Development Program in order best serve as an imperative piece in the development system for collegiate and professional hockey.
